چکیده

Fe-based metallic glasses (MGs) have attracted much attention because of their cheap raw materials, outstanding soft magnetic properties and superior catalytic activity. Meanwhile, the fabrication micro/nano-structures on its surface could further improve functional properties. In this study, it was attempted to fabricate a MG (Fe52Cr13Mo12C15B6Er2, in at. %) by nanosecond pulsed laser irradiation technology. The characteristics microstructural evolution were investigated. experimental results showed that under different fluences, laser-irradiated areas exhibited distinguished microstructures, i.e., nanoparticles, network nanostructures or combination these two microstructures. Furthermore, oxygen erbium enriched inside nanostructures. By analyzing evolution, formation mechanisms nanoparticles discussed. actually caused laser-induced element enrichment (i.e. amorphous oxide) mismatch wettability with substrate; attributed diffusion connection combined influence recoil pressure topography.

We investigate initial cumulative irradiation effects leading to variable surface topographies and nanoscale roughness, and triggering eventually the formation of laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) on Zr-based bulk metallic glasses (Zr41.2Ti13.8Cu12.5Ni10Be25.5 (at%)). We discuss interconnected aspects related to electronic excitation and optical transients, potential variations ...

Pulsed laser-induced formation of silica nanogrids

UNLABELLED Silica grids with micron to sub-micron mesh sizes and wire diameters of 50 nm are fabricated on fused silica substrates. They are formed by single-pulse structured excimer laser irradiation of a UV-absorbing silicon suboxide (SiOx) coating through the transparent substrate. A polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) superstrate (cover layer) coated on top of the SiOx film prior to laser exposure ...

Glass Formation, Chemical Properties and Surface Analysis of Cu-Based Bulk Metallic Glasses

This paper reviews the influence of alloying elements Mo, Nb, Ta and Ni on glass formation and corrosion resistance of Cu-based bulk metallic glasses (BMGs). In order to obtain basic knowledge for application to the industry, corrosion resistance of the Cu-Hf-Ti-(Mo, Nb, Ta, Ni) and Cu-Zr-Ag-Al-(Nb) bulk glassy alloy systems in various solutions are reported in this work. Moreover, X-ray photoe...
